Change your life from night to day Many people really don't know this, but... For almost 12 years I was flat broke, bankrupt, and deep in debts. Instead of writing for the newspaper I was working for, I was delivering it at dawn every day just to make enough money to feed my wife and two daughters. I often had to rummage through my cupboard to find spare change to buy milk and rice. My situation was pathetic! Then, in February 2004, I discovered something that Change your life from night to day my entire life. Fast forward to the present... I now WRITE inspirational books that help others to build better lives instead of delivering the newspaper. I also teach English language to adult beginners and how to write creatively and effectively to journalist aspirants. I make MORE money in a single day than I used to make in three months of delivering papers. I may not be earning billions like Bill Gates, but I earn enough to save for the rainy day. I have near ZERO bills and live in a cosy little home. So what happened to turn it all around How was I able to Change your life from night to day There is no big secret in my turnaround. If you think that the secret for success lies in more education, better job, more energy, more money or simply better connections, then the answer is a simple NO. The secret is a subtle shift in thinking a shift you can make any time you choose to make it! As I hinted to you in the introduction to this book, if you have the right attitude and loads of belief in self then success will come knocking at your door. The formula to success is very simple. The next five steps will put you on the path to your success. Its as easy as that. First, stop thinking the way you have been thinking about yourself till now. Second, stop worrying about your future. Third, kick out all the fears that haunt your mind. Fourth, stop thinking about what you cant do. Instead, start thinking and dreaming about what you can and want to do. Fifth and the most important: believe in yourself and in your dreams. All those doubters out there may say, Hey Stop. All this is easier said than done. Show us the proof. For all you doubters, my reply is this, My life is my message. This is what Mahatma Gandhi said when somebody asked him as to what is his message to the world. Most of us are ashamed the way our lives are shaping up. We have all the negative thoughts in our minds. We look down on ourselves and consider ourselves good for nothing. Or, we start imagining that all those out there are simply waiting to pull the carpet from under our feet. We then curse others and ourselves for our misery. Naturally, we end up living miserable lives. If you listen to a miserable man speaking, his statements will be peppered with lots of ifs and buts. These are indications of his fears. A miserable man is afraid of everything, including himself. As Dr. Lee Warren wrote in his article titled The negative effect of fear on the mind, fear is THE mind killer. When fear strikes, negative thoughts grip the mind and you tend to take all wrong decisions pushing your life further into misery. At least 80% of todays middle class is living dead because of fear of one thing or the other. If you are in this situation today, you deserve to blame yourself for it. You reap what you sow. If you therefore wish to pull yourself up out of your incredible financial, spiritual, and psychological MESS and start achieving your dreams then there is one solution for you: drop your present line of thinking and adopt a positive thinking habit. And speaking of habits, did you know that habits are incredibly powerful tools for personal growth and success According to Dan Robey of Abritt Publishing (USA), our character, health and virtually every aspect of our lives are indeed determined by our habits. Dan says that if you ask 10 people on the street what the word habit means, nine out of 10 will tell you that a habit is a negative action that people do over and over again, like smoking, or procrastinating, or eating too much. . . . Take for instance smoking. Every year millions of people lose their lives across the globe due to smoking-related illnesses. It is staggering. If a negative habit can be so staggeringly damaging, then just imagine what a positive habit can do to us. The power of positive habits can bring you success, health and happiness and a power for positive, permanent, and automatic personal growth. Positive habits produce positive benefits. Positive actions and attitudes can be acquired and made part of your life. Why is there such great power in positive habits to effect change Because habits, by their very nature, are automatic. After a period of time they can become permanent, says Dan. So how do we acquire new positive habits Quite simple. You simply begin repeating an action, attitude or thought process every day for at least 21 days. And Dan says, research has shown that an action that is repeated for a minimum of 21 days is likely to become a permanent habit. Remember that positive habits have positive benefits and you will reap those benefits for as long as you maintain that habit. So now that we know what to do, let's take a look at the most simple habit that has profound impact on your future growth and success, i.e. goal setting. Make it a habit to set goals Most successful people share this common positive habit of goal setting. A study was done recently in the United States of America to find out the significance of goal setting. College students who later became successful businesspersons were asked to list their habits. Those students who had made a habit of setting goals were in the top 3% of earnings in the population! The value of goal setting as a positive habit is immense, especially, in todays world. Though goal setting is simple still 97% of the people never do it. So if you want to place yourself in the top 3% of the population of successful people, then make goal setting a positive habit. Simple steps to help you start making goal setting a positive habit: Step 1 If you want to hit your target then define your goals, write them down, and be very specific; capture your goals on paper. Step 2 - Set deadlines for each goal. Step 3 - Identify any obstacles that may stand in your way and state how you plan to overcome them. Step 4 Prepare a list of the people / organisations who will help you in reaching your goals. OK, you have now had an introduction to the concept of earning money from home.
